9th Month Visit...a Little Late

Today we had Olivia's 9th month check-up. Just like last time, we were a little behind since she'll be 11 months old on Sunday! She was such a big girl for the nurse and Dr. Bucknam. She was measured, weighed, had a toe prick and let Dr. Bucknam check her out. She shed some tears when her big toe was pricked and when the doctor examined her. But, he said she is beautiful and growing right on schedule!

Here are her stats:

Weight: 18 lbs. 12 oz. (48th percentile)

Length: 27 1/2" (25th percentile)

Head Circumference: 17 3/4" (75th percentile)

A Day Outside in our Yard

Our project for Sunday was to work in the yard and plant flowers. When we bought flowers at Lowe's we also got a swing for Olivia for the playset in the backyard. We spent the afternoon pulling weeds, planting flowers in the pots and flowerbeds and pushing Olivia in her new swing. She just loves it! She let out a big giggle each time she swung back toward us. She didn't seem too excited about our new flowers, but she LOVED the dirt! She mashed it around in her fingers and not surprisingly, ate some too! The weather was gorgeous and it was a perfect day to spend together in the yard!

Happy Mother's Day

My first Mother's Day was spent with my beautiful Olivia who made me a mother and my two moms. Both my mom, Cheri and my step-mom, Kiki were here to share the day with us. (We missed you Grandma Debbie!) We enjoyed a yummy brunch, hugging on Olivia and playing dominoes.

Happy Mother's Day to all my fellow mothers!

Furry Scurry

Last year, I went to the the Furry Scurry with friends when I was 8 months pregnant. I told my little Olivia that next year I would bring her! So, we went to Washington Park in Denver for the 2007 Furry Scurry along with Aunite Rara and Boulder. This event is put on by the Denver Dumb Friends League, the shelter where we adopted out kitty, Daisy.

Olivia had such a fun day at the park watching all the doggies, both big and small. She was absolutely mesmerized by all the activity. But, of course, her favorite doggie of all was her buddy, Boulder! She just recently has befriended him and she no longer cries when he tries to give her kisses!

A Walk to the Park

We are so fortunate to have a beautiful park just a short walk from our house. One spring morning, we took Olivia to the park to enjoy the nice weather and to play on the playground. What a fun excuse for Jason and I to swing and slide down the slide like kids! I think Jas had more fun on the slide than Olivia!

Olivia is not so sure what to think about grass. When ever we set her down on the grass, she cries big alligator tears. I finally got her to pose in the grass with me, but I had to hold her tight and keep that itchy, scratchy grass away from her skin.
