Denver Zoo Lights

With Olivia dressed as the cutest little penguin, we headed out to Zoo Lights to start a new family Christmas time tradition! Olivia was the hit of Zoo Lights! So many people stopped to comment on our little penguin as we walked around the zoo. Olivia was captivated by all the lights and the people. We hope to continue to go to Zoo Lights as a family for years to come!

Penguin Olivia

During an after Christmas shopping excursion with Kiki and Alton, we found this adorable penguin outfit. I thought it would be perfect for Olivia to wear to Zoo Lights since it was so cute and it would keep her toasty warm. Gigi agreed and bought it for her. Olivia and I posed in front of the tree before we left for Zoo Lights.

Olivia's First Christmas

Around 7:00 a.m. on Christmas morning, Olivia awoke and we celebrated our first Christmas together, just the three of us. Again, Olivia was much more interested in the wrapping paper than her gifts! It was a peaceful morning filled with hugs and smiles and lots of presents for Olivia! In the early afternoon, Auntie Tara and her parents and John stopped by for a little while and Papa, Gigi and Auntie Altie came to spend the day with us. What a joyous first Christmas we had with Olivia!

Christmas Eve at Papa, Gigi & Auntie Altie's House

We celebrated Christmas Eve at Dad, Kiki and Alton's house on Sunday. It is our Frisbie family tradition to open presents on Christmas Eve and we enjoyed the snowy day eating yummy food, watching the Broncos win and opening presents! Olivia had fun opening gifts, but seemed to prefer the wrapping paper to the presents, of course! By the time we were done with the unwrapping, Olivia was pooped!

Olivia the Snow Angel

The day after the big storm we took Olivia out to play in the snow and make snow angels! She doesn't quite get the snow angel thing yet...she'll learn. Isn't she just so cute in her pink polka dots?!?

Oh, the weather outside is frightful...

The Holiday Blizzard of 2006 hit the Denver Metro area with quite a force! Here in Thornton, we've received 28.5 inches, at last count, and the snow is still falling! Jason has been out shoveling for the past hour trying to make a dent in all of the snow that is piled up on our driveway. Once it is cleared, we still won't be able to leave our house until the roads are plowed, which should happen at the earliest on Friday... Olivia had a great time out in the Winter Wonderland with Daddy, who took a break from shoveling to play with her in the snow!

Yuck! Not so sure about this rice cereal!

With the snow blowing outside and Daddy home from work because of the blizzard, we decided to give Olivia her first taste of a solid food - rice cereal! Needless to say, most of it ended up on her bib and her face and I don't think she liked the grainy texture. We'll have to keep practicing eating from a spoon. Another new experience for our little Sweet Pea!

Olivia's First Babysitter

During the past few weeks, a wonderful young lady, Brooke, has been watching Olivia while Jason has been at work and I have been at my high school library internship. Olivia loves hanging out with Brooke and they have formed a special bond. Unfortunately, for us, Brooke is moving to South Carolina at the end of the month. We will miss you so much, Brooke!

Daddy's Girl

Olivia just loves her Daddy! Her eyes light up when he walks into the room and no one can make her smile and laugh quite like he can. I just love watching the two of them interact. It's so special and just melts my heart. What a sweet pair they are!

Olivia & Santa

We decided to venture out to Flatiron Crossing so Olivia could have her first visit with Santa! She just loved watching all of the other kids and the white twinkling lights on the trees while we were in line. The little girl behind us, who was about two or so, said to her Mom, "That baby has big cheeks!" She sure does! Our little chunky monkey was such a trooper and didn't seem to mind waiting an hour to meet Santa. Once it was her turn, she bravely sat on Santa's lap and although she looks a little perplexed, she didn't even shed a tear! We'll see how she does next year...

Christmas Story

Olivia just loves when we read stories to her. Since she grabs onto everything these days, she holds onto the sides of the book during storytime. Here I am reading The Animals First Christmas to her before bed.

Decorating for Christmas

Preparing for Christmas this year has brought new joy and excitement now that we have Olivia here to share this magical time with us. Last weekend, we went to a Christmas tree lot and picked out her first Christmas tree in the freezing cold -- it was only 18 degrees! Once we got home, Jason strung the lights and then Olivia "helped" me hang the ornaments. She was absolutely mesmerized by the ornaments, the twinkling lights and the advent calendar. What fun it was to decorate!
